It attaches to Raspberry Pi by way of one of the two small sockets on the board upper surface. This is the 2.7 mm Wide Angle Lens, an add-on for the M12 Raspberry Pi High-Quality Camera. It has a wide field of view and a variety of uses, like CCTV applications, or of course, cat photos. Includes a thumbscrew to quickly and easily assemble onto the HQ Camera Board.

Wide-angle lenses are good for getting shots of a big area, wildlife cameras, security cameras, doorbell cams, etc. The video may be distorted around the edges to fit it all into the sensor.
